  • Accompanied onto the water with an instructor near you as you try windsurfing

  • Pull the sail up
  • How to get into the sailing position
  • Start and stop
  • Steer the board
  • Turn the board around (Tacking)
  • Self rescue
  • Know what to wear, how to put on a buoyancy and the local hazards around sailing
  • Understand the basic terms used in windsurfing

Windsurfing Level 2

  • Learn basic Tack and Gybe
  • Steer upwind and downwind

Windsurfing Level 3

Level 3 develops skills learnt in Level 2 and aims to progress them to the next competency stage enabling you to confidently windsurf. Bring a change of clothes, towels, shoes that can get wet, sunblock, and a hat.

  • Achieve improved sailing on all points of sail.
  • Tack from Close Hauled to Close Hauled
  • Improved gybing
  • Using body weight and board trim to improve performance
  • Understand the basic rules of sailing
  • Use the daggerboard appropriately on all points of sail.
