Oman has some of the most perfect conditions in the world for learning to sail. The tropical waters are warm and clear and the winds light and steady. 

SEAOMAN offers a range of sailing courses following the Oman Sail national sailing scheme at each of its four sailing schools:

Marina Bandar Al Rowdha | Millennium Resort Mussanah | The Wave, Muscat | Sur Marina

The national sailing scheme created and launched by Oman Sail is recognised by the world governing body for sailing, the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) and delivered by a team of qualified Omani dinghy coaches in English or Arabic 

Private tuition and specially designed courses for individuals, private groups, schools and groups are also available

Take to the water with SEAOMAN and learn an exciting new sport. A great way for children and adults to experience something fun and learn new skills.

There is no age limit for learning to sail however children must be age 8 or above.

Sailing Courses 

 

The taster session is a 2hr introduction and can be booked upon request at any of the sailing schools.

The 2 day courses are normally scheduled at weekends however they can be run mid-week upon request. Courses are run separately for adults and children and have a maximum of 3 – 4 students per instructor.

Once you have sucessfully completed the Level 3 course you will be able to hire our dinghies and sail independently. 

PRIVATE TUITION

If the course dates are not suitable or you would like to learn by yourself or learn with your family, we can run a session of tuition or a full course at a time to suit you with private tuition.

DINGHY HIRE

To hire a boat you must have your Oman Sail Level 3 certificate or equivalent. Hire is subject to availability and available from all four sailing schools upon request.

SCHOOL GROUP BOOKINGS

Try sailing and taster sessions are available as well as full courses and tailored programmes.
School sailing sessions are run on weekday afternoons between 2pm and 5pm however full courses for school groups can be arranged over two full days.

Prices are based on a minimum of 4 sessions with a minimum of 8 students. Please enquire for details.

THURSDAY KIDS AFTER SCHOOL CLUB – The wave, muscat

Finished your Level 1 sailing course and aged between 8 and 16?

Enjoy recreational sailing, fun games and activities with your friends at our sailing school at The Wave, Muscat every week.

The After School Club is run on Thursday afternoons from 3.30 – 5.30pm and costs OMR 45 for a block of 6 sessions.

FRIDAY SAILING CLUB – the wave, muscat

Finished your Level 3 sailing? Why not join our sailing club and enjoy recreational sailing or the opportunity to race with friends every Friday.

Morning social sailing session 0930 – 1200 and afternoon racing 1400 – 1630.

we provide :

All sailing equipment, buoyancy aids and bottled drinking water

you need to bring :

Shoes (old trainers are ideal) and clothes that you are willing to get wet, a towel and a change of clothes for afterwards. A long sleeved shirt, suncream, sunglasses and a hat for protection against the sun are also advisable.

Sailing tuition is run using a range of dinghies dependant upon the age and level of the students and the conditions. We have the following boats across our four sailing schools:

We also have Laser 1’s, RS Feva’s, Laser Vago’s and Hobie 16’s for the more advanced courses.

Sailing courses are run from all of four schools, each location is unique in terms of its setting, amenities and individual features, but offers the same high standard of tuition no matter where you decide to do your course.

Oman Sail plans to open three more Sailing Schools across Oman in the coming years at Khasab, Sohar and Salalah.
